Honouliuli Waste Water Treatment Plant Project

At the end of 2018, Nan Inc wins a $267M contract to expand Oahu sewage plant. The City and County of Honolulu has awarded Nan Inc. this big contract to expand the secondary treatment system at the Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant in Ewa.

This expansion project will last for 4 years and is expected to be finished somewhere at the end of 2022. The project was a necessity because of the increasing population in the Ewa community. It was also needed to meet the requirements for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

It’s a big project that will involve different departments of the Nan Inc construction business.

What will Nan Inc exactly do?

According to the project on the Nan Inc Website (https://www.nanhawaii.com/portfolio/honouliuli-waste-water-treatment-plant/), this massive project will be utilizing 24-acres of undeveloped land and three-acres on the existing Honouliuli WWTP site.

Some of the work includes the construction of a massive aeration basin, six open-air secondary clarifiers, an affluent division box, a secondary emergency generator building, and a secondary process pump station.

Nan, Inc. will also be installing all the utilities and pipelines connecting the various structures.
